Xiao Xin “Noah” 2/20/2004 Jiaozhou Orphanage
Xiao Xin arrived at Bethel in 2006. He had been abandoned when he was only a few months old, and then sent to an orphanage. When he came to Bethel, he was blind, couldn’t walk, talk or eat solid foods. He had a successful heart surgery in 2005 for Fallots Tetrad Heart Disease, though he has trouble maintaining a healthy weight.
He has made a lot of progress at Bethel, he can walk and perform most self help skills independently, though he is a very slow mover. It also took some time for him to be able to show his emotions, but with a lot of time and patience he is very expressive. He also is very affectionate towards his Ayis and teachers.
Xiao Xin doesn’t particularly enjoy toys very much. He would rather play by himself or talk to adults. He is very well behaved and does well in school. He is very intelligent, and scored the highest in his class in English. He rarely offers to answer a question, but rather sits quietly and absorbs all the information. If he learns a song in class, he loves to sing it the rest of the day. He is a pleasure to have at Bethel!
