In looking for ways for Bethel to expand its coverage to impact more children with visual impairment, Bethel formed a partnership with an orphanage in Zhengzhou. Love is Blind in Zhengzhou is located within the Zhengzhou social welfare centre, who have provided a space for Bethel to care for their visually handicapped and multi-disabled orphans.

We have trained a number of ayis and assistant teachers for the project, and a team of medical and education professionals have been to assess these children. We hope that our project in the Zhengzhou orphanage will be an example to other orphanages, and that we can be a witness of high-quality care.

These visually impaired children in Zhengzhou are in Bethel’s care from 8am to 5pm every day. Bethel provides specialized care, therapy, medical checks and education for these children, as well as food and milk at lunchtime. Some of these children have other medical needs. Bethel hopes to form more of these partnerships with orphanages.
